Hitachi Europe - Development work on Hitachi's European Website. We were employed by Studio Liquid, Guildford to do all the back end work on Hitachi's European website.

The site is run on Netscape Iplanet Webserver 4.1 with mySQL database and Java 1.3. We wrote all servlet/JSP code and set up the database.

Sun. Working with multimedia specialists, Kibook, we helped design and code this site for Sun's European sales department.

The site is JSP running on Tomcat 4 with a mySQL database

Inline Skating, Maria Bosman, July/August 2003

Inline Skating, London, August 2003. We helped Netherlands based compnay, Partners in Creation to promote their skating lessons in London. Company director and trainer Maria Bosman is giving lessons in inline skating/roller blading in London and she wanted to create some pages which would promote the lessons. We helped design web pages on her site and posters for printing.

Kibook. We are helping multimedia and design specialists, Kibook, with their backend coding on several high profile projects. We are working with them on Java coding, writing JSP and Servlets for their projects. We are also helping them with setting up databases in postgres and mySQL running with Tomcat in a linux environment.

Part of our work with them involves setting up a Windows 2000 server running PHP, Tomcat and mySQL for a large client of theirs.

We are writing Java code to get information from a database and display it within large Flash MX interfaces.

APA Europe, May 2002 - March 2003

We were involved in the development of a European communications programme promoting timber frame construction, targeting architects and specifiers. We created the template for a multlingual website which provides the flexibility for unique elements with country-specific features. In the UK, we developed a unique interactive specification writer to enable architects to follow NBS standards in specifying engineered wood products.

Another key aspect was the development of a database with built-in tracking which enables the client to chart the impact of his key marketing messages with his target audience. (combining here both CRM and building a brand presence online for APA).

Further enhancements to the site in February and March 2003 allowed users to browse case studies and print quality photos online.

Cognisco, Cranfield - two day introduction in Flash MX Actionscript for this Milton Keynes based company specialising in training online. We were working with their in house design team to help improve their productivity and develop special training modules for their clients using Flash MX.

Siemens UK, Wellingborough -two day Dreamweaver MX focussing on developing databases and server behaviours for the web development team at Siemens UK.We were helping the in-house development team learn to develop their intranet in ASP and PHP

PC Tech Guide December 2001 to March 2003

PCTech Guide is one of the leading sources of information on PCs and PC hardware online. It offers user information on how the components which make up a PC work The site has around 100,000 unique visitors each month.

The site owner wanted to move from being a completely free site to one where most of the content was free.In addition to the free content he wanted value added sections which users could gain access to by paying a licence fee. To this end, he required a log in system which gave users different access rights according to their profile. He also wanted the users to be able to buy a new licence online or by cheque.

We coded the secure online purchasing system through Net Banx. We also coded all the login functions and the administrative functions which allowed the licencees to change their details or buy more licences. It is programmed in PHP with a mySQL database.

We coded the section which packaged the whole site for corporate users. As the content of the site changes on a regular basis, we wrote a perl cgi script which trawled through the site and packaged all the files in one folder with the correct links on the files.
